In an era where talk radio hosts are often perceived as “mean spirited”, listeners are learning what the nation already knew—that Kevin Wall is a breath of fresh air in a medium full of negativity. He’ll make you laugh—and he treats callers as welcome “guests” rather than “the enemy”. You’ll notice the difference in tone immediately.
Kevin Wall believes talk radio is about opinions—his and those of his listeners. You won’t have to wait long to hear what Wall thinks about a given subject—whether it be proposed higher taxes or the Democratic agenda to control more of your life. On “Live and Local with Kevin Wall”, the host’s opinion won’t be the only one you’ll hear. Newsmaker interviews and listener calls are a major part of the show.
The road to Talk Radio was a circuitous one for this 25 year radio veteran. Wall began his career as a sports talk host and play-by-play announcer. He hosted a daily national sports talk show on what is now Sporting News Radio—and still found time to host four of the last seven Olympics for Westwood One. Wall’s play-by-play credits include soccer(he’s the former play-by-play voice of the MLS Los Angeles Galaxy and Fox Soccer Channel), NHL hockey, college basketball and football, and professional boxing.
September 11th of 2001 changed everything for Kevin Wall. After watching the twin towers fall, the idea of asking why a manager didn’t bunt in the third inning seemed trivial. It was at that point that the Missouri native charted a new course—a course that would take him to some of the top News/Talk networks and stations in the country. His recent career stops have included WLAC-AM in Nashville, KTSA-AM in San Antonio, TX.—and most recently in afternoon drive in Las Vegas. Wall is regularly heard filling in for national hosts like Glenn Beck, Brian Kilmeade and Bill Bennett. Local stations in San Francisco, Washington DC, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Atlanta, and Seattle make their first call to Kevin Wall when a local host is ill or on vacation.
